Posterior a estas primeras fundaciones, los carmelitas se extendieron por España en 1263, Italia en 1238, Portugal en 1251, Alemania en 1268, Irlanda en 1271, Malta en 1418, Polonia en 1411, Holanda en 1652, Bohemia y Moravia pero suprimida en 1785 y revivida en 1908; Romanía en 2002, Ucrania y Francia en donde fue suprimida en 1789 y revivida en 1989.
